On March 26, the kids at San Jose welcomed
another newcomer, Kenyi, age 8,
who is there on at least a temporary placement.

Wilber, Daniel, and Kenyi.

Juan Diego, center, is enjoying having Wilber and Kenyi
as new friends about his age.

The kids are great about accepting their new housemates.

Back to school!

Diego is a new tutor at Sagrada Familia working with the teens.

Carmen is also new at San Jose and works with the
younger ones on homework.
She is shown here with Juan Diego and his new buddy
Daniel.  Both are second graders.

Lizet was getting help from Tio Alejandro as she was
learning about Venn diagrams in 4th grade.

Within a week after arriving at San Jose,
Daniel has gotten into the routine of daily homework.

Diego Armando gets back into the groove
of piano lessons with Tia Gloria.
This little guy has LOTS of talent.

Margot, in her last year of high school,
gets help from Tio Alejandro.
He enjoys the challenging problems she brings each week.
She hopes to pass the tough college exams later this year.

Hanging out with the casas kids

When they are not busy with school work,
the casas kids still have a life
and enjoy themselves.

Angela and Yasmin came to Tia Gloria's house
to start another needlework project.
These are two very sweet girls, both in 5th grade.

Arelis has a beautiful smile and is
adjusting well with her move to Sagrada Familia.
She is in first year of secondary school.

Lizbeth likes her new place

as does Katiuska.

Victoria redefines the meaning
of hanging out.

In Arequipa, rainbows are quite uncommon.
But recently, we witnessed a very rare
double rainbow from Sagrada Familia.

When asked what promise God
attached to the rainbow, several of the teens
remembered the covenant of Genesis 9:11-13
that God would never send another flood
to destroy the earth.
