Sad News

It is with great sadness that we report that Blanco, the beloved dog of Sagrada Familia was struck and killed instantly by a truck on Maundy Thursday in the morning just a half block from San Lucas Church. 

Martha saw it happen from the roof of the Casa Hogar.

Shown here with Katiuska, he was much loved by all the teens. 

Blanco especially warmed up to Tio Alejandro.

They were good buddies.

BACK TO SCHOOL DAYS

Tio Alejandro (Sandy) goes in after school twice

a week to tutor math with the children of San Jose.

 Rosa Maria gets help from Rosa the tutora.

 Pamela and Gimena both have new glasses,

thanks to Fr. Chris and Anne Lewis-Jenkins 

and the generosity of people back in Wales.

 Tia Gloria is back giving lessons to Tamara and Yasmin,

as well as six others from the younger children's home.

 SAMS Intern, Chris Easley plays with the

 kids after their homework time is finished.

And he also teaches them a Bible lesson.

 The new construction on Sagrada Familia is coming along wonderfully...

 Dorm rooms on the bottom level are ready for windows and doors.

 The teens will really enjoy the expanded dining room area.

 Blanco is very fond of Tio Alejandro!

THE LEWIS-JENKINS ARRIVE FROM WALES

The children from Casa Hogar San Jose are

delighted to meet Fr. Chris and Anne Lewis-Jenkins, 

who have traveled to meet them all the way from Wales!

Their church runs a thrift shop that has helped financially

support this children's home for the past six years.

What a blessed time was had by all in getting to know one another!

 The children are shown here with Fr. Chris and Anne, 

as well as missionaries, Sandy and Gloria Johnson.

 The  Lewis-Jenkins bring each of the children a stuffed animal or doll.

Estrella, Yasmin, Rosa Maria, and Isela are thrilled...

as is Gimena!

oversees raises some money for a special need...
