NEW ADDITION AT SAGRADA FAMILIA!

Imagine our surprise when we
arrived at Sagrada Familia yesterday,
to discover a new adorable puppy!

His name is "Blanco"
and he's 3 months old!

Too cute!

Arelis and Giovanna are quite
taken with their new "fur friend!"

KYM McDANIEL'S DESPEDIDA

The first week of August, the kids at the
casas hogares said good-bye (for now)
to intern Kym McDaniel from Texas.

Kym receives a beautiful shawl
 from Sagrada Familia.

The teens are sad to see her go - she
helped many of them with their English,
plus poured out lots of love on them all!

The children at San Jose have cake
and a whipped jello dessert in honor
of Kym's despedida.

What a sweet surprise!

Jimena loves Tia Kym,
as do Estrella, Tamara,
Rosa, and Yasmin.

Isela, Tamara, and Pamela
offer a recitation

And Jimena coaches Martita in her
special words to Tia Kym

The whole crew says good-bye

VACATION FUN!

During the independence days of Peru,
school is off for the entire week....so Tio
Alejandro, and Tias Gloria and Kym decided
to treat the kids to a movie and an ice cream
on Friday, July 30th.

We went to Shrek 3 and the kids had a blast!
It was interesting for the "Tios Gringos" to
try to follow the story line completely in Spanish!
Thankfully, Shrek movies speak for themselves :)
