The Roofdogs visit the casas Feb 22-24

The Roofdogs come to visit Casa Hogar San Jose
and start the day with making name tags.
The kids pay close attention to Lidia's instructions.
Lizet is sure glad to see Tio Nozar again.

and so is Katiuska.

Ronald looks on as Susan and
Fr. Mark paint the upstairs railing.

Nozar enjoys hanging out with
Diego Armando, Juan Diego, Javier, and Ronald.

It's time for lunch.

Yasmin is thrilled with the new clothes
brought by the Roofdogs.

Deacon Tony and Daniela share a special moment.

Merritt has fun with Juan Diego.

At Sagrada Familia, Manuel helps
Fr. Mark with painting a wall.

Miguel Angel plays a game of Connect 4 with Fr. Mark

=======================================

The newest member of Casa Hogar Sagrada Familia
is the new puppy named Bolt.

Victoria gives Bolt a big hug.

Miguel Angel also thinks Bolt is pretty special.

Bolt has a great disposition.
Here he is very calm with Tia Ginny.

The tios helped the kids build
Bolt his new doghouse.

Casas kids go to a park with the Roofdogs

A fun time was had by all when the Roofdogs
took the kids from both casas to El Molino,
which is a nice park for playing and for riding horses.

Martha and Serbando ( a new tutor) run through the grass.

A small alpaca draws quite a crowd.
He seems calm with Tio Eric and Fr. Jeff
but had spat on Sandy minutes earlier --
a most unpleasant smell.

Tamara enjoyed her ride on a horse

as did Diego Armando.

Edgar is obviously enjoying himself.

Tia Cinde was all smiles as she had
a great time with the kids.

Yasmin took a special liking to Tio Larry.

Tia Kelly enjoys her snack time with Angela and Susana.

Katiuska and Giovanna
are good buddies.
Javier is glad to have some
personal attention from Tio Nozar.

Tio Ron and Tia Holly enjoy a
lighthearted moment with
Lizet, Margot, and Diego Armando.

After the fun time at the park, all went to Pollo Real
for a tasty luncheon of chicken.

A day of music, dance, and games

.
The last day of the Roofdogs visit was spent in
a special day of dances, music, and some fun games.
Tia Gloria accompanies the San Jose kids as they sing
Give Thanks and Sing Alleluia to the Lord in English!
Their colorful outfits were for a folkloric dance they did.

The girls from Sagrada Familia
did a more contemporary dance,

but later the guys joined them for a
colorful traditional Peruvian dance.

Little cowboy Juan Diego
is all smiles.

Aren't these some of the prettiest
cowgirls you've ever seen?

sisters Katiuska and Tamara -- below

A recorder quintet entertains the crowd.

The Sagrada Familia tutors also
prepared a special dance.

Ten of Tia Gloria's piano students give their
first public performance, including Arelis.

Edgar looks tired but happy
after his dance.

The Roofdogs join the kids
in a lively final dance.

Ronald and Waldir watch
some of the games.

In an active game of "keep away",
Waldir, Edgar, and Susana
try to steal each other's clothes pins.

The fans cheer from the sidelines.

Tio Ron enjoys a special time with
brother and sister Javier and Angela.
Daniela and Katiuska are enjoying the activities.

Near the end of the day, the older students from
Sagrada Familia were given "tools of the trade".
Here Tia Tony gives Susana some cosmetology tools,
which Giovanna also received. Manuel was delighted
with his electrician's tools, and Edgar with a chef
outfit. Margot will have her college entrance exam
paid for, plus received a nice backpack.

Team leader Susan Kerr
is given a plaque by Sagrada Familia
in appreciation for all they have done
to support the casas of Arequipa.

After lunch, Tio Ron demonstrates how
to train the new young puppy at Sagrada Familia.
Tio Nozar and Tia Kelly played the role
of a puppy in training...an entertaining
way to get the message across!
